Black and White Gala
You helped make Dakota Communities’ Black and White Gala fundraiser a reality. This year’s event raised over $66,000, making it possible for people with disabilities at Dakota Communities to live a life of greater independence in their home and community.
We cannot deliver our mission without you – our sponsors, supporters, guests and volunteers. You make it possible to provide a vital margin of excellence. While we have government reimbursements to pay for the basics – housing, food, health, and safety - we want more for the people at Dakota Communities. From our beginning in 1973 we pledged a better life for those we support.
Thanks to you and your gifts, people at Dakota Communities are allowed to ”age in place” as accessible bathrooms, ramps, and ceiling lifts allow people to be as independent as possible. Your support helps provides accessible vans so people can go to the Arboretum for therapeutic gardening, the Y to swim, and the State Capitol to educate their state legislators. Your help makes it possible for James to connect with his community as he volunteers at the local fire station. Peggy and Ron can continue their efforts as self advocates as they educate others about the disability world and speak out for those who cannot. James, Peggy and Ron from Dakota Communities are just 3 of 270 people you are helping to have a richer, fuller life - a whole life. A life that focuses on a balance of mind, body and spirit.
